InClementine

We had a spell of
hoar frost.

For those of you who haven't had the pleasure -
Long, lacy, fernlike ice crystals delicately accumulating on the tiniest of branches, adorning entire landscapes in sparkly, spiny coats. Uncommonly still and silent, otherwordly, ephemeral. A rare phenomenon consisting of just the right temperature, pressure, and moisture - the slightest fluctuation in these elements, a peep of sun, a breath of wind, and this ephemeral structure begins to shatter and evaporate.

I savored the dream state while it lasted. Had a good long walk, and got to watch tiny fragments of crystals sift to the ground on my way back home.

We've seen teasing glimpses of the sun, followed by another three long days of snow. I made my peace with being, for the most part, indoors. Drank ginger tea. Watched the snow drifting off rooftops in filmy sheaths of blindingly bright, sun-glinted glitter.

By night, ghostly plumes
swept and rose over the dark streets, sparkling madly before headlights like stagelit sequins.

There's likely a few more cold snaps ahead. Even through spring, we'll have chilly shade on our walks, chillier evenings. It's been getting harder to don the same winter coat, again.
For those of you who've also been feeling the unbearable weight of your old cocoon,
I'm having a consolation sale.

This upcoming week, all wool skirts, faux furs, real furs, glamorous cozy coats, warm wool or fur hats, are on sale, some further reduced, up to 75% off. I'm tossing in a few new arrivals, including a bitchin full body snowsuit, and a stunning black wool coat
with an ivory mink collar.

There's a good share of beautiful pieces to recharge your late winter self, and pieces to see you through the chiller days of a long awaited Spring.

Happy Inclementine's Day.

Spring is coming soon, I promise.
